15 min Driving Range Warm Up

Every sport has a warm up to begin practice sessions or games. Golf should be no different, we all know flexibility maximizes club head speed and reduces injury. We also know, not warming up properly can lead to injuries that keep you from playing golf.

To keep from getting hurt it's important for your body to get warmed up. What exactly is "warming up" for golf. Golf requires total body mobility and a fully engaged nervous system, so you can swing hard and stay in the correct positions. Warming up is different than static stretching, with a warm up we want continuous movement through big ranges of motion for the joints of your spine, hips and shoulders. Warming up also activates your balance and muscular systems to allow you to feel where your body is at in space. Finally, we need to move fast at the end of the warm up to ensure our brain and nervous system is ready to take on the challenge of driving the ball and hitting long approach shots.

Follow this warm up below to learn a "no equipment" workout that can be done on the range or in the parking lot, it should only take 15 min or so if done properly. You will feel the difference when you step up to your first shot!!
